What I’ve learnt as a Propel Digital Intern

Hi! I’m Emma, and I’ve been fortunate enough to spend time learning from the lovely Loz, and her powerhouse team at Propel Digital. In all honesty, I wasn’t too sure what to expect going into my internship. Although I study Media Communications at University, I had no clue what a ‘real job’ in digital marketing would entail.

I’m pleased to report that through my time at Propel I’ve had a taste of what a job in digital marketing is like… and I love it.

My top three takeaways from my time at Propel Digital are:

  • Team environments save lives

I didn’t really understand the importance of having a strong team environment in a workplace until I started with Propel. Being a relatively small group, having a diverse set of strengths allows the propel crew to offer an extensive range of services, and a wealth of expertise to their clients. By working to their strengths Loz, Em and Sarah make an exceptionally well functioning (and fun) team.

  • You’ve got to wear all the hats

Content creation, content planning, search engine optimisation, website design, ad campaign management, influencer recruitment… the list quite literally goes on and on. The Propel Digital team really does it all, which means there’s never a dull day in the office

  • There’s so much to learn

My time at Propel has left me with a curiosity and a bit of a bug for all things digital marketing. I’ve learnt that the skills I need to be employable don’t come from a textbook.

So, you’ll be able to find me watching youtube videos about lead generation for the foreseeable future.

I am walking away from my internship with Propel with an understanding of how a team functions within the sphere of digital marketing. More than anything, I’ve learnt that I LOVE the kind of work the team does at Propel, and I’m so grateful to have had such a positive experience exploring what it means to be in the game of Digital Marketing.

So… thanks to Loz, Em and Sarah for having me, and with any luck I’m saying goodbye for now, but not forever to the Propel Digital team.
